On the occasion of 74th Republic Day, a sub-divisional level function was organized at SD College, Ambala Cantt, in which Member of Parliament Kartikeya Sharma attended as the chief guest and unfurled the tricolor. On this occasion, he also paid tribute to the martyrs. Addressing the gathering, Kartikeya Sharma said it is a matter of great pride and privilege for him to unfurl the national flag here on this occasion of 74th Republic Day. “On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all of you. A long story of sacrifice of our patriots is associated with Republic Day,” he said. Kartikeya Sharma said that in the last 8 years, under the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our country is continuously moving forward, the coming 25 years are very important for India. On August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day, the Prime Minister asked all of us countrymen to take 5 vows so that in the next 25 years, in this golden age of independence, our country will once again be called Vishwa Guru. Talking about the immense contribution of Haryana in India’s independence, Kartikeya Sharma said even today the youth of Haryana consider it their pride to join the army. “This is the reason that today every 10th soldier of the Indian Army is from Haryana. We have got freedom and our freedom is safe because of the brave soldiers who guard the borders of the country day and night. Today the whole country is indebted to him. Haryana has increased the exgratia amount from 20 lakhs to 50 lakhs for the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country while protecting the country.” The MP said that the present government under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Manohan Lal Khattar is trying to ensure equal development of every area of the state on the basic mantra of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. “The state has made almost all the schemes and services online so that every person gets the benefit of the schemes and services of the government at his doorstep. For the first time in the country, the Haryana government has started the facility of giving online ration cards to BPL families.” “To provide free treatment facility to more and more poor, the government has implemented Chirayu Yojana by expanding Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, in which 13 lakh families will be able to get free treatment,” the MP added.
